Core Values

Wellsprings of Freedom international

Humility & Servanthood

We believe that all those who serve at Wellsprings of Freedom International (WFI) are servant warriors.  We are humble servants of Jesus Christ, the One True King, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).  Our attitude should be the same as Christ Jesus, considering the needs of others above ourselves (Philippians 2:2-5).  As servants who operate in the power and authority of Christ to set the captives free, we humbly acknowledge that we are mere stewards of God’s authority.  It’s not about us, our authority, or our gifts; it’s all about Jesus and the healing He wants to do in a person’s life.

Encouragement & Affirmation

We believe that our staff members and volunteers at WFI grow best in an atmosphere of encouragement and affirmation. Encouragement and words of affirmation are the best motivators to disciple and develop new team members and leaders.  We recognize the power of the words we speak (Proverbs 18:21).  Therefore, we seek to use our words to build each other up and not tear down (1 Thessalonians 5:11).  We are intentional about showing and expressing appreciation to our volunteers throughout the year.  We also seek to affirm the positive and celebrate the victories before discussing or offering constructive feedback to others.  Saying “thank you” is a must at every team meeting.

Speaking the Truth in Love

WFI is a ministry that is filled with grace and truth. In this way, we follow the example and ministry of Christ (John 1:14).  We remain firmly committed to the Truth of God’s Word.  Yet we are also ministering to broken and hurting people who need to experience the unconditional love of the Father.  Therefore, all truth must be spoken in love.  There is no room for judgment or condemnation at Wellsprings.

Team-Based

The WFI ministry is a team-based ministry.  We believe in the principle that “two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) and that we are stronger together.  Since there is one Body of Christ made up of many different parts, each part of the Body is important (1 Corinthians 12:12-13).  Each spiritual gift contributes to the overall effectiveness of the team, and the diversity of gifts enhances the unity of the team.  Each role on a Wellsprings team is vital and significant (Team Leader, Discerner, & Intercessor).  Those who serve at WFI are “team players.”  There are to be no “lone rangers” in this ministry.

Ongoing Growth & Team Development

WFI is wholeheartedly committed to teaching, growing, and developing its team members and Network teams serving around the world.  We want to see each team member growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).  We desire to see the character of Christ formed in us (Galatians 4:19).  We also seek to develop our God-given gifts for the glory of God and the freedom of others. Therefore, we seek to equip and resource our volunteers in Rock Island, IL, across North America, and around the world with the highest quality training opportunities and materials possible.  We are committed to creating and marketing resources produced by WFI for WFI team members.

Training & Multiplication

While growth by addition is good, we believe that growth by multiplication is even better.  Therefore, WFI is committed to growing by both addition (adding new team members to established teams each year) and multiplication (training up new teams serving in new locations).  Our goal is to entrust the Wellspring of Freedom International ministry model to reliable men and women who will be qualified to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).  Everything must multiply.

Methodology that is Palatable to the Evangelical Community

Though we believe in all of the spiritual gifts listed in scripture, it is our desire to create a method of doing freedom ministry that can be more easily accepted by most denominations and churches.  Because we understand the reluctance that many churches have toward the gifts of tongues and prophesy, we refrain from using these particular gifts in the midst of freedom sessions.  Our goal is healing and freedom, and we strive to remove any barriers that might hinder a church from joining us in the mission of offering freedom to a broken world.

Respect for the Client

There are many ways to do freedom/deliverance ministry, and some of those models of ministry can be very disrespectful to the client.  From the very beginning, God has made it abundantly clear that Wellsprings is to be done with the utmost gentleness, love, and respect for the client.  It is our desire to be a catalyst in the modern-day freedom movement to advance the concept of “gentle authority.”  We believe that by doing so, God will once again develop and expand the practice of freedom ministry around the world.

Accessibility & Affordability

Our desire is to offer freedom to everyone.  We do not want finances to keep anyone from receiving healing and freedom in Christ.  Therefore, WFI strives to do everything it can to keep costs as low as possible in order for clients to receive ministry.  We promote a “pay it forward” mindset across our organization, so that those currently receiving ministry at Wellsprings can give back and help others to receive ministry in the future.  One of our mantras has always been: “If a lot of people do a little, the load will be light.”

Holy Spirit-Led & Driven

One of the distinct characteristics of the Wellsprings of Freedom International model of ministry is that it is entirely Holy Spirit-led and directed.  Although each freedom session and physical healing prayer session is facilitated by a Team Leader, our sessions are ultimately led by the Counselor – the Spirit of Truth – who guides us into all truth (John 14:16-17, 16:13).  All the gifts of the Spirit in a session operate and function at the discretion of the Holy Spirit.  While we follow a clear method and model of inner healing and deliverance, we trust in the Holy Spirit to grant wisdom, discernment, and direction to the Team Leaders and team members, as they pray, speak words of truth, and minister healing to the client.
