Praying with Authority
A Course in the people of prayer series
Welcome to our “Praying with Authority” course! As you walk through each class at your own pace, we believe the Holy Spirit has words of encouragement, inspiration, and instruction for you as you seek to be a person who prays with authority. To get the most out of your experience, we recommend that you watch the classes in order and work through the associated reflection exercises to apply what you have gleaned.
Good Father, come and speak to each person as they take this course. You have truth to reveal, wisdom of which you desire for us to grab hold. Open our hearts and minds to receive from You. We come with holy expectation, anticipating You moving and acting in our lives. In Your Name We Pray, Amen.
Course Classes
Class 1
The Source of Our Authority in Prayer
Our spiritual authority in prayer comes not from ourselves, but from our identity as children of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. When we understand and walk in this delegated authority, our prayers shift from fearful pleading to bold declarations that align with Heaven’s power and purpose.
Class 2
The Power of Praying in Jesus' Name
To pray in Jesus’ name is to stand in His authority, invoking the power of the One who conquered sin, death, and the enemy. It transforms our prayers from mere requests into powerful, Kingdom-backed declarations that move heaven and shake darkness.
Class 3
Declaring God's Word in Prayer
Declaring God’s Word in prayer aligns our hearts with His and releases spiritual power by affirming His truth over our lives and situations. Rather than reciting Scripture passively, we are invited to speak it with faith and authority—using it as a living weapon in spiritual warfare and a personal conversation with God.
Class 4
Confronting Darkness: Prayer and Spiritual Warfare
This class will equip you to face spiritual battles with confidence, knowing that you carry the authority of Christ. Learn to pray with power, break strongholds, and shine light into the darkest places through Spirit-led intercession.
Class 5
Walking Daily in Authority & Intimacy with God
Spiritual authority is not about saying the right words but about being rooted in daily intimacy with Jesus, who grants us His authority through relationship. When we walk closely with Him, our prayers become powerful because they flow from His will and are empowered by His Spirit.
